Leon Thijssen and Tyson. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. It was Leon Thijssen and the Numero Uno-stallion Tyson who went all the way in the Grand Prix in Mechelen on Wednesday. The in-form Dutch partnership was 0.10 seconds ahead of Lars Nieberg and Lord Luis – a 12 year old gelding by Lasino – in the jump-off. Simon Delestre was third aboard the stallion Couletto, almost a second behind Thijssen’s time. There were as many as 16 clears out of the 43 riders in the class.
