It was Leon Thijssen and the Numero Uno-stallion Tyson who went all the way in the Grand Prix in Mechelen on Wednesday. The in-form Dutch partnership was 0.10 seconds ahead of Lars Nieberg and Lord Luis – a 12 year old gelding by Lasino – in the jump-off. Simon Delestre was third aboard the stallion Couletto, almost a second behind Thijssen’s time. There were as many as 16 clears out of the 43 riders in the class.
The 1.45 speed class was won by Ludo Phillipaerts on Tauber van het Kapelhof – a 14 year old stallion by Darco.
