Hi there!
Or Howdie from Calgary. We got here on Saturday night, my flight was arriving later than all the other grooms so my friend Nat who works for Shane Breen took care of my horses when they arrived at the show. I finally reached Calgary at 9.30 pm and went straight to see my 2 horses Bonsai and Prince- they were tired looking and Bonsai was lying sleeping but when he heard my voice he got up to say hi Mum! He was very happy to see me!
I got a lift to my hotel and went to bed it was 7.30am European time and since I had started my day at 3.30 am the previous day I was Exhausted to say the least... Even though I managed just 3 hours sleep and my body told me it was time to get up!! Argh Jetlag sucks!!
So I couldn't wait to get to the show, see my boys and get them out and exercised...
They were still pretty tired so I gave them a gentle lunge, fed them well walked them out and just let them recover a little bit from their long journey....
I also visited the office to order feed and I got my envelope of show money so I could go eat!! Nice!
The girls in the office are Super so happy and friendly nothing is too much trouble.. There's even free coffee... So far so good :)
I did my accreditation remembering to smile nicely....
The good thing about this show is the great friendliness between the grooms- we are all stating at the same hotel and all the girls ( and guys!) are really nice even when we are fighting to get to the breakfast in the mornings!!
Tomorrow the show starts and that means lots of walking since the ring is so far away... Best not forget anything!!
Tonight my rider arrives and he will ride the 2 horses in the morning- since I've been lunging them for 2 weeks I hope they go well... Till then I'm away off to do night check I'll let you know how we get on and post some pictures too.... Good night :)
