A fast Frenchman on top in Stuttgart

Friday, 18 November 2011

Simon was fast as always and won the class. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Simon Delestre and Napoli du Ry (Baloubet du Rouet x Silvio) won the 1,55 m speed class on Friday evening at the Stuttgart German Classic. The French pair left the World Champion Philippe Le Jeune with Vigo DÁrsouilles (Nabab de Reve x Fleuri du Manoir) and Patrice Delaveau with Orient Express (Quick Star x Le tot de Semilly) behind them.

The young German rider Katrin Eckermann, who has been doing amazingly well lately, ended up fourth together with her 10 year old Carlson (Casco x Sable Rose).

The World Champions was in the lead for quite a while. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. It was a class that should have had 45 riders to start, but the Spanish rider Cayetano Martinez de Irujo had a bad fall earlier today and didn´t ride. Thirteen clear rounds were delivered, and among those two 8 year olds were represented;  Ludger Beerbaum's ride Chiara (Contender x Coronado) and Henrik von Eckermann's ride Quibell (Quintero x Cento). Quibell ended up as thirteen, just behind her father Quintero La Silla with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson in the saddle.

Luciana Diniz must hate the last fence by now; once again that was the only pole that fell during her round - just as in Aachen & Madrid. Edwina Tops-Alexander fell off Ciske van Overis (Celano x Darco) in the last combination and Le Prestige St Lois De Hus (Quidam de Revel x Grand Veneur) managed to touch almost every fence, sometimes both with the front and hind legs without having a single pole down!
