Philippe Rozier did what he does best in Cannes this afternoon; rode extremely fast to take home the win in the 1.45-1.50 speed class. As one of the final riders to go in the class that counted 47 riders on the list – with a few no-shows – the French rider rode Akita (Skippy II x Goldspring de Lauzelle) without any brakes around the twelve fence track, and did an extremely quick and short turn to the final oxer to cross the finish line at an amazing time: 58.96. Rozier shaved off no less than 0.54 seconds of Philipp Weishaupts’ leading time after he speeded around the course on Leoville 2 (Landor S x Wettruf), so the German rider was pushed down the result list and eventually ended second.
Last to go Rodrigo Pessoa – winner of the 1.45 speed class yesterday – really gave it a go. The Brazilian rider set off on the amazingly fast HH Palouchin (Baloubet du Rouet x Chin Chin), but he could not do anything about Rozier or Weishaupt’s times and finished third on 60.44 seconds. Roger-Yves Bost had the fastest time today as well, but just like yesterday a pole fell.
