A selection of photos from the test event for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy

Thursday, 03 July 2014

Everything was tested at the test event before the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy - even how Patrice Delaveau looks in the French flag on the big screen. All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

The organizers gave away a lot of tickets for the event on Wednesday. For the first class it was mostly children there, who seemed to have a lot of fun.  Ring Master Pedro was happy and prepared as usual.  Norman entertained the audience in the breakes.  And all the placed riders got their own little Norman.  It was mostly sunny in Caen and the horses could have a little treat on the grass.  Everything was practiced for the prize giving - how to walk, when to walk and where to stand.  And the riders - Patrice Delaveau, Bertram Allen and Dirk Demeersman - had a laugh when they waved to the empty grand stands.  Such a cute fence! The rain started to pour down during the Grand Prix - Dirk Demeersman was the last rider before there was a break in the class until it stopped raining.  Most of the grand stands are under roofs, but the rest had to run.  Well, everything got tested at the test event. And it was a lot of water that came down, but the surface looked good also for the riders that came after the break.
