A win for Team Nissan at the Nissan World Cup Qualifier – Port Elizabeth, South Africa

Monday, 18 November 2013

Photo by TB Images.French course designer, Frederic Cottier had to trade his trainers in for wellies this past weekend as the rain poured down in Port Elizabeth for the 5th leg of the SA World Cup Qualifier Series. The title sponsor, Nissan, had two team riders competing in the class - husband and wife duo Barry and Lorette Taylor. Despite the terrible weather conditions, Frederic's track sent six riders through to the jump-off and the combination to come out on top was Lorette Taylor on her South African bred mare, Nissan Watch Me (Wachmann III x I'm so bad).

The horses and riders have moved on to Stellenbosch – one of the oldest wine-producing regions in South Africa's history dating back to the 1600s'- for the final leg of the series, which will take place on Sunday the 24th of November.

Results:

1st -Lorette Knowles Taylor on Nissan Watch Me P

2nd- Bronwyn Short on Fountain of Love

3rd- Jeanne Engela on Chanel Van De Zeshoek.
