Aachen Day One; wins for Dermott & Doda

Wednesday, 13 July 2011

Doda and AD Norson here at the GCT in Cannes last year. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The first class in Aachen yesterday was won by Irish rider Dermott Lennon and Loughview Lou Lou (Limmerick x Jack of Diamonds). Luciana DIniz was the first rider to enter the ring aboard Licapo and the pair had a clear round that was good enough for second place. Laura Kraut came third riding the talented eight year old Dona Evita (Darco x Fleuri du Manoir).

The second class counted 62 riders and as many as 26 of them were clear. The fastest one was Alvaro Miranda aboard AD Norson (Quidam de Revel x Grand Veneur) on 69.92. Right behind him followed Billy Twomey and Tinka's Serenade (Tinka's Boy x African Drum) with the time 70.14 and Laura Kraut with Teirra (Tolano van het Rienhof x Aldatus) at 70.93.

The French team is still struggling to find back to their good form. At the first day in Aachen Olivier Guillon was their best rider as number 47 with seven faults. He was followed by Simon Delestre, Michel Robert and Penelope Leprevost on eight faults, while Kevin Staut ended up with nine faults as number 55.
