Advertisement; Holsteiner Elite Riding Horse Auction 2014

Monday, 13 October 2014

The Holsteiner elite riding horse auction is just around the corner: from 30 October to 1 November breed and equestrian enthusiasts from all over the world come together at the Neumünster Holstenhalle.

Casmann - 2009 born gelding by Cascari - Colman. For this year's Holsteiner Verband elite auction, about 30 three to six-year-old horses have been entered into the catalogue. Prospective buyers have ample opportunity to try out and test the horses at the Holsteiner Verband Elmshorn headquarters from 14 – 25 October. Same as last year, clients may not jump the horses at Neumünster. At the Holstenhalle, the horses will be presented over the jumps free and under saddle to provide interested parties with a concluding impression of "their" candidate.

"We have seen about 150 horses during the pre-selection tour", says auction manager Peter Glisic, "and I feel confident we have found promising prospects for each discipline." Like for example the reigning 5-year-old event horse state champion, Dacapo by Diarado-Canturo, which convinced the judges at Bad Segeberg with his ground-covering canter and his reliable jumping under Helen Emond.

Call me Future - 2008 born mare by Casall - Corrado I.

Not only German top class event riders, like for instance London Olympic team gold medallist, Dirk Schrade, come to Schleswig-Holstein on a regular basis to look for high-class prospects for their sport. A particular gem for dressage is La Bohème, a 3-year-old Lantino – Esteban/TB daughter. "She boasts three exceptional basic gaits and stands out for her rideability", says Markus Suchalla, who is in charge of the training and marketing of the dressage horses.

The 4-year-old chestnut Camou Flage by Clarimo-Chello is suited for the big arena as well. "We also have some horses in our auction selection well-suited for the American hunter and equitation market", says Peter Glisic. But the main focus is on young 3- to 6-year-old jumpers, as befitting for the Holsteiner breed. While the 3-year-olds have of course not been publicly shown yet, most of the 4-, 5-, and 6-year-olds already boast placings up to M level and are thus ready to hit the ground running next season. They are highly interesting, not only for professional riders but also for amateurs.
