Monday, 02 September 2013

Noblesse - a 6 year old mare by Nonstop x Bon Ami - is one of the sport horses that will be available at the auction. Keen interest from the Far East in this year’s jumper and foal collection at the XII ESI (Elite Sales International) auction in Klein Roscharden, Germany, The people at ESI were pretty amazed when they received a request from China for a consortium to take part in this year’s ESI auction in order to invest in foals for the first time. ‘We now already have a lot of requests from China, Russia and South America, among others! We think it’s partly due to this year’s exceptional lot and also due to the fact that we primarily selected foals from renowned sires especially for our auction. Another aspect is the presence of successful ESI auction horses in show jumping events. A number of former ESI auction foals were able to qualify for the German Bundeschampionat, such as Luftzauber with Gilbert Böckmann, newly crowned Oldenburg champion for six-year-old jumpers in Rastede,’ declared Henrik Klatte, head of ‘Zuchthof Klatte’ breeding farm in Klein Roscharden.

The auction lot at the XII ESI sport horse and foal auction on 28 September in Klein Roscharden is of exceptional quality and features 62 elite foals and 25 exquisite jumpers aged between four and seven years old as well as hunters and equitation horses for the US market.

The sires of the foals read like a who’s who of the showjumping world! Many of the foals are sired by horses currently or formerly in the WBFSH top ten, such as Darco, Kannan, Nabab de Rêve, Toulon, Vigo d´Arsouilles, Casall Ask, Sandro Boy, Voltaire, Stakkato, Numero Uno, Zandor and many more besides. No less interesting are the maternal lines of the auction foals, which have produced a number of international showjumping cracks.

Otto Vaske, well-known showjumper, managing director and trainer of young horses, maintains that buying a foal can be a very rewarding investment. ‘Many successful business people are now investing in the sport horse and have purchased foals and jumpers at ESI auctions and sold them on for a profit after a period of continued rearing and training.’

The official training period for the jumpers begins on 18 September in Klein Roscharden where you will have the opportunity to view, try out and study the horses of your choice in a relaxed atmosphere.

On the day of the auction, 28 September 2013, the presentation of the foals begins at 2 p.m. This is followed by the presentation of the jumpers on a short showjumping course before the auction begins at 7 p.m.

For those who are unable to be there in person, Clipmyhorse.tv will be broadcasting the entire event via a live stream on the Internet.
