Al Sharbatly hits form on Larkhill Cruiser

Friday, 02 September 2011

Together with Abdullah Al Sharbatly Larkhill Cruiser won the 1.50 class in Gijon Friday. Photo by Oxer Sport.Click here for full results from the CSI5* show in Gijon.

Abdullah Al Sharbatly – the bronze medalist from last year’s WEG – took home the win in the 1.50 class in Gijon on Larkhill Cruiser (Cruising x Crosstown Dancer). Al Sharbatly purchased the horse from Cian O’Connor in May, and is now clearly starting to hit the right strings on the lovely Irish bred gelding. Together the pair was over a second faster than runner-up Koen Vereecke on Dior van het Indihof from Belgium. Norway’s Nina Braaten on Blue Loyd 12 – European-bound later this month – was third.

Karim El Zogby continued his good form to win the 1.45 speed class. Aboard Dunoair Urona (Chin Chin x Voltaire) he left Pieter Devos on Dorenta in runner-up position, while Julio Arias was third on Roger Moore B.
