Amazing Hickstead wins again

Thursday, 08 September 2011

An unbeatable team - Eric Lamaze and Hickstead won at Spruce Meadows yesterday - with a jet lag! Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. They did it again; currently number one on the world ranking Eric Lamaze and his amazing fifteen year old stallion Hickstead (Hamlet x Ekstein) once again took home the win at the International ring at Spruce Meadows. The two had great success at the Summer Tour in Spruce Meadows, and at the first day of the Spruce Meadows "Masters" Tournament they did it again.

Eric Lamaze and Hickstead were second to compete in the jump-off and put down a blistering pace that could not be matched. “This was a good start for Hickstead,” Eric smiled.  “He just got off the plane from Europe and I am very pleased with how he feels. We both have a bit of jet lag but that didn’t seem to matter.”
