Aniek Poels is the winner of the Grand Prix in Hengelo

Sunday, 11 December 2011

Aniek Poels won the Grand Prix in Hengelo. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson, worldofshowjumping.com.Aniek Poels from the Netherlands did a amazing jump-off with her ride Baggio (Heartbreaker x Concorde) and took home the win in "Grote Prijs van Hippisch Hengelo" at Hengelo's 2* show today.

Fifty riders qualified for the Grand Prix and when the class started it looked like it would be many clears, but the course turned out to be tough enough, so in the end fourteen pairs were welcome back for the jump-off.

Aniek managed to be more than two seconds ahead of Wouter Vos with Chelsea (Nabab de Reve x Etretat) who ended up in second place. Third position went to Louise Saywell from Great Britain on the horse Winner. Eric van der Vleuten with the eight year old stallion Spartacus TN ended up fourth.

The only one who got close to Aniek´s time was Chantal Regter with Aragon (Aksari x Kolibri), but unfortunately she had the last fence down.
