Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Austria will not send a showjumping team to the European Championships after all. Originally they had entered a team consisting of Stefan Eder on Connycor, Julia Kayser on Sterrehof’s Ushi, Astrid Kneifl on Duc de Revel and Dieter Köfler on Glock’s Prince de Vaux – but the team has now been withdrawn. OEPS sports director Franz Kager explains that the decision has been taken together with the riders in consultation with chef d’equipe Thomas Istinger and sports consultant Thomas Frühmann. The Austrian showjumpers will instead focus forward on the World Equestrian Games in 2014.
