BMC Van Grunsven Simon to be sold?

Thursday, 23 June 2011

BMC Van Grunsven Simon and Jeroen Dubbeldam. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The Dutch website horses.nl is reporting rumors of the superhorse BMC Van Grunsven Simon (Mr.Blue x Polydox) being sold. The KWPN gelding has been very successful under Jeroen Dubbeldam, and was placed third in the World Cup final in Leipzig as well as being on the winning Dutch team in Rome.

According to horses.nl the new rider will supposedly be a British one, but according to Jeroen Dubbeldam no sale from the Van Grunsven brothers – who own Simon – has yet taken place. A sale would for sure be a huge blow for the Dutch team, as BMC Van Grunsven Simon has been one of the most consistent horses for the Dutch this season – and a sure candidate for the Europeans in September and the Olympics 2012 together with Dubbeldam.
