Beat Mändli and Louis enroute to victory in the Glock's Final Grand Prix Tour. Photo by © Michael Rzepa. In the full seated arena of the Glock Horse Performance Center, it was Beat Mändli and Louis (Lord Pezi x Ultraschall) that went to the top in the Glock's Final Grand Prix Tour. Exactly 48 athletes from 22 nations had entered the € 60,000 Grand Prix including Olympic, World and European champions. Twelve riders made it to the second round, and three of them were Dutch. Eventually the heated battle for the victory ended up in a thrilling race between the Netherlands and Switzerland.

It was the double silver medalist from London, Gerco Schröder that initially took the lead after delivering the first clear round in the jump-off – stopping the clock at 42.11 after a breathtaking ride on the 12 year old stallion Urban Hero (Centurion Montfort x Ilmeo). It was not to last though, as his team mate Marc Houtzager and Sterrehof's Uppity (Guidam x Epilot) pushed Gerco down to second shortly afterwards. A perfect mix between a fast pace, control and a lot of risk gave in-form Marc a time of 40.03 seconds and the lead.

"Louis has jumped super, and the last four days here were just great. I've been to many great places in the world, but it has been truly unique here in Treffen with the Glock family. Thank you,” Beat said after his win. Although the win was Swiss, the next three spots belonged to Holland with Marc, Gerco and Wout-Jan van der Schans following on the result list.
