Betram Allen beats all in the 5* Grand Prix qualifier in Gijon

Betram Allen with Molly Malone. Photo by Hípico Gijón.There is no stopping Ireland’s 18 year old Betram Allen. On Sunday he won the 5*Grand Prix qualifier in Gijon –Trofeo S.A.R. Príncipe de Asturias – riding Molly Malone (Kannan x Cavalier). With eighteen riders moving on to the jump-off the competition for the top prizes was fierce, but Allen nailed it with a clear jump-off with a time of 44.60 seconds. Second went to David Will on S I E C Carriere (Catoki x Contang), who was just fractions behind on 44.63 seconds. Harrie Smolders ended a good weekend with becoming third on Regina Z (Rex Z x Savoy Hanover).
