Big Star looks set to return to competition! Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Big Star (Quick Star x Nimmerdor), the 2012 London Olympic Games gold medal team horse and winner of the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen, Germany, may return to the competition arena for the week of the Winter Equestrian Festival Rolex CSI5* in Wellington, Florida the week of Feb. 5-9, rider Nick Skelton told WorldofShowJumping.com on Friday.

Nick, a star for the past several years at the 12-week WEF, said that Big Star had been in Florida since November recuperating from an injury incurred after the Rolex Aachen victory last June. As a result, the 11-year-old KWPN stallion missed Spruce Meadows in Canada and Geneva that with Aachen make up the Rolex Grand Slam of Jumping.

"He's doing great," Nick said on the sidelines of WEF. He's looking at WEF week five Feb. 2-5 for a return to the competition arena.
