At the test event for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy, the French riders dominated Wednesday's 1.40 class. Mathieu Billot won the class and Patrice Delaveau was second. Billot and the 17 year old Pardoes (Koriander x Habsburg) did an amazingly fast jump-off in front of an extatic crowd, and were slightly faster than Delaveau with Ornella Mail HDC (Lando x Alligator Fontaine).
Third place went to Ireland's Bertram Allen on Wild Thing L (Montreux x Lux) and then followed French riders ranked from four to six - Jeroen Zwartjes on Zwiep des Fontaines (Lupicor x Hautain Fontaines), Philippe Rozier with Phirst du Chai (Calvaro x Jabad) and Benjamin Barbot riding O'Z du Moulin (Artos).
Earlier in the day Italy's Filippo Moyersoen and Loro Piana Biricchina Bella (Contendro x Burggraaf) won the 1.35 class over two phases ahead of Bertram Allen with Wrangler II (Padinus x Burggraaf) and Switzerland's Frederique Fabre Delbos on Nirvana Basters (Rosire x Iris Landai).
WoSJ will be back with more coverage around the test event.
