Bost and Dreher on top in Rio

Saturday, 03 September 2011

Roger-Yves Bost proved that he has formed a partnership with Jessica Kürten’s former ride Castle Forbes Myrtille Paulois (Dollar du Murier x Grand Veneur), when he took home the win in the biggest class in Rio yesterday. Together with the 11 year old SF-mare Bost was a fraction faster than fellow team mate Philippe Rozier on Randgraaf (Burggraaf x Renville) – their times in the jump-off were separated by 0.06 seconds. Laura Krauts continued her fabulous form on the Tolano van het Riethof-mare Teirra to end up third.

No less than 19 riders reached the jump-off in this class, were ten riders yet again had clear rounds. Among these was Cassio Rivetti, riding Cian O’Connor’s former ride Temple Road – a horse that was purchased for the Ukrainian team earlier this summer.

Hans-Dieter Dreher continues to impress; here with Constantin B. Photo by Stefano Grasso/GCT.The opening class in Rio was won by Hans-Dieter Dreher – who has rocketed to showjumping stardom over the last few months with his brilliant results and riding. Aboard the nine year old gelding Constantin B (Contendro x Espri) he was the fastest of the sixteen clears in the class. Runner-up was Cassio Rivetti, while Janika Sprunger was third.
