Bruggink unbeatable in Championat of Donaueschingen

Saturday, 20 September 2014

Gert-Jan Bruggink and Vampire was in top form in Donaueschingen on Saturday. Photo by World of Showjumping. It was another big Dutch win in Donaueschingen on Saturday as Gert-Jan Bruggink won the Championat der Stadt Donaueschingen on Vampire (Marome Nw x Voltaire). Thirteen riders went on to the jump-off, where eight produced a second clear round. Fastest of all was Bruggink though, who in his true showman-style stuck his hands in the air as Vampire bucked his way through the finish line to celebrate his performance.

The following two riders were both German, much to the joy of the home crowd – Felix Hassmann was runner-up on Cayenne WZ (Claudio x Ramirado) with a jump-off almost two seconds slower than that of Gert-Jan. In third followed Kaya Lüthi on Pret A Tout (Hiram Chambertin x Stew Boy). The Dutch dominated though, with Wout-Jan van der Schans in fourth and Bart Bles in fifth.
