Canada's possible Olympic candidates announced

Sunday, 12 February 2012

Will it be Coriana van Klapscheut that gets the job on defending the Olympic gold medal together with Eric Lamaze in London in August? Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Jump Canada has named its list of declared candidates to be considered for the Canadian Team for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Canada won team silver in Hong Kong 2008, and all of its team members are again possible candidates for 2012. None of them will however be riding their horses from the last Olympics

Reigning Olympic champion Eric Lamaze has been declared with five horses - Coriana van Klapscheut, Derly Chin de Muze, Herald 3, Hunter's Scendix, Luikka, and Verdi. Jill Henselwood has two options, in George and IV Ever, while Mac Cone has Unanimous and Capone I.

Ian Millar is on the list with In Style, Contino 14, Ferraro K, and Star Power, with the latter three horses also declared with Millar's son, Jonathon. His daughter Amy Millar is declared with Costa Rica Z, as well as Ferraro K and Star Power.
