Christian Ahlmann and Lorena 111 on top in Hamburg

Friday, 18 May 2012

A happy winner. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Today’s only 5* class in Hamburg - a 1.50 class against the clock - went to Christian Ahlmann and Lorena 111 (Larencox Romeo). The combination went in to the lovely arena in Hamburg as start number 1, and held on their lead through all 51 combinations left to come. Ahlmann and Lorena had more than one second down to number two - Marcus Ehning who was riding a very fresh Noltes Küchengirl (Lord Z x Cambridge Cole), and two and a half seconds to number three Michael Whitaker and Ingliston Twister (Tornado x Voltaire). The fastest round of the day came from the Master of the Faster, Richard Spooner and Billy Bianca, but with four faults that was not good enough today.

Denis Lynch amazingly managed to start today's competition after his bad fall in La Baule Sunday. One could see that Lynch was not his usual self though, but together with Lantinus  (Landkönig x Argentinus) he ended up as number 23 with one time fault as Lynch had some difficulties taking the short turns.
