Christian Ahlmann holds on to top position on the Longines Ranking – changes in the Top 10

Saturday, 03 August 2013

Christian Ahlmann is still the best rider in the world. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Christian Ahlmann cannot be pushed down from the top of the Longines Ranking; on the latest ranking of 31.7.2013 the German rider is still the world’s number one. There are plenty of changes among the rest of the Top 10 though, as America’s Beezie Madden has climbed from third to second – after experiencing some great results lately including a win in the Longines GCT Grand Prix in Chantilly. Kevin Staut is up from rank four to rank three, while Holland’s Gerco Schröder is out of the top three and now rank four.

Marcus Ehning has made a good climb, going from rank nine to rank five this month. Then follows Edwina Tops-Alexander and Steve Guerdat who have switched positions this month, while Kent Farrington has jumped into the Top 10 – going from rank twelve to eight following plenty of good results at Spruce Meadows to mention some. Roger Yves-Bost goes on up from ten to nine, and Luciana Diniz steps in to the Top 10 as the new rank ten. The new riders on the ranking replace Nick Skelton and Ludger Beerbaum, who have dropped from rank five to eleven and from rank eight to twelve.
