Patrice Delaveau and Bertram Allen totally dominated Thursday's test event for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Delaveau and Allen took hold of the first and second place in both classes on Thursday. Bertram Allen won the 1,40 speed class on Wild Thing L (Montreux x Lux) ahead of Patrice Delaveau aboard Quenndal de Lojou HDC (Le tot de Semilly x Gemmedu Murier). In the Grand Prix the two riders just changed spots on the podium, and Delaveau got to stand on top after a jump-off that was 1,5 second faster than Allen's.
Delaveau rode the bouncy Ornella Mail HDC (Lando x Alligator Fontaine) in the class that consisted of 44 riders. As many as 18 riders went on to the jump-off and the riders had to perform in all kinds of weather. The class started in sunshine, but a pause had to be set in during the second half of the class due to a thunderstorm. Then the sun came back for a short while before it started pouring down again. So all sorts of weathers have been tried out at this test event.
Allen rode Wrangler II (Padinus x Burgraaf) while Abdelkebir Ouaddar - who ended third - rode Quickly de Kreisker (Diamant de Semilly x Laudanum).
