Did you know?

Friday, 20 September 2013

Did you know that there is an age limit for horses and riders for different events? To compete at the Olympic Games or at the World Equestrian Games the rider needs to be 18 years or older and the horses have to be at least nine years old.

It is the same age limit for the riders when it comes to the World Cup Final and the Nations Cup Final, but the horses are allowed to be one year younger. And when it comes to a World Cup qualifier, a Grand Prix or a Nations Cup qualifier the horses only need to be seven years old.

The riders need to be 18 years old to start in a Grand Prix at a CSI3* - CSI5* show. And as a 14 year old you are allowed to start at an international show up to CSI5* at a maximum height of 1,40 m but only with permission of the national federation.
