Doda and Drossel Dan victorious in Basel

Friday, 14 January 2011

Alvaro Miranda and AD Ashleigh Drossel Dan - here at the WEG. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. Friday’s 1.50 class at the 5*-show in Basel was a close race, where Alvaro Miranda and AD Ashleigh Drossel Dan (Drosselklang x Ashleigh Brigadier) were victorious. They were clear in the jump-off with a time off 34.20, closely followed by Christian Ahlmann and Taloubet Z on 34.50 – the latter showing off their continuous good form. Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and Ninja la Silla were third. Two Irish riders followed the Swede; Billy Twomey and Denis Lynch.

The 1.45 speed class was won by Philippe Rozier and Ideal de Roy (Quidam de Revel x Grand Veneur) with a clear round on 53.89, over 1.5 second ahead of Janika Sprunger and Valentyn. The young and promising Manuel Anon Suarez and Max Kühner’s former ride Acantus GK were third.

The last class of the day - a 150 accumulator class - was won by the always competetive Guy Williams and Torinto van de Middelstede (Remondo x Azur Depaulstra).
