Douglas Lindelöw takes the GP in Drachten

Sunday, 15 January 2012

Douglas and Talina, here at Gothenburg Horse Show.Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson/ worldofshowjumping.comAt the 2* show in Drachten it was the young Swedish talent, Douglas Lindelöw ho took home the win in Sunday’s Grand Prix riding the 12 year old mare Talina (Matterhorn x Heidelberg).  The 1.45 class had 50 combinations to start, and 25 of them were clear after the first round. With 25 riders in the jump-off the riders had to risk some faults to be able to fight for the victory. The poles fell, but seven riders managed double clears, and the fastest one was the European Champion for young riders from 2010 at 34.24. The fastest jump-off was delivered by Danish rider Jennifer Fogh Pedersen riding Sundance (Polytraum x Ramiro) at 32.34, but unfortunately one pole fell.

The more experienced riders had to see themselves beaten by the younger riders today, as Aniek Poels was second with Baggio 11 (Heartbreaker x Concorde) and Tim Hendrix was third aboard Varanke SFN (Gran Corrado x Hamlet) with the times 34.56 and 35.71. In fourth we found Caroline Poels with Valley (Andiamo Z x Glorial).
