Dutch Sport Horse Sales in pictures

Wednesday, 03 October 2012

Cupido (Harley VDL x Ircolando x Maykel) was the star of the evening and was sold for 200.000 Euro. All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

Four girls got the audience in the right mood before the auction started. "Harold the horse" was catalog number -1. Ballerina (Carolus II x Pharaon x Ahorn) was the second most wanted horse at the auction and was sold for 190.000 Euro. This five year old chestnut gelding Cassanova (Carolus II x Glennridge) was auctioned off for 180.000 Euro. His new home is in the US.The tables were full and several well known people were present such as Eric and Maikel van der Vleuten, Erika Lickhammer, Geir Gulliksen, Rob Ehrens, Gregory Wathelet, Abdel Said, Marcus Fuchs, Willem Greve, Andre Thieme and Mathijs van Asten. The guys showing the bids had a busy evening! The second Harley VDL offspring, Cloe was sold for 165.000 Euro. The rider had a chat with Dulrike Utica's bidders. After the break a foal was up for auction as well... ... and the painting "Der Apfel" brough in 7.000 Euro for Cancer research. Identity Z (Indoctro x Lester x Zeoliet) is another horse moving to America after yesterday's auction. It was impressive how calm the young horses were in the auction ring. Chapeau (Indoctro x G.Ramiro Z x Lucky Boy) was sold for 170.000 Euro. To know more about the auction and the horses you can visit their website; www.dutchhorsesales.com.
