Edwina Tops-Alexander Global Champions Tour Title winner for 2011

Saturday, 26 November 2011

Edwina can celebrate after taking home the overall GCT-win! Here in Cannes this summer. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Edwina Tops-Alexander is the Global Champions Tour Title winner for 2011.  Ludger Beerbaum and Chaman retired midway through the first round of the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi, after crashing through elements B and C of the treble combination. Edwina, out two horses later with Cevo Itot du Chateau, jumped with two rails down.

This occurance meant that Edwina Tops-Alexander is unable to be caught in the ranking points and takes the Global Champions Tour title for 2011 and the 300,000 euro cheque and the Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos clock.

The Grand Prix class itself was won by Roger-Yves Bost on Ideal de la Loge after a jump-off that was unbelievably fast! Full report from the class will follow. Results can be found here.
