Emanuele Gaudiano wins the second qualification for Hamburg Derby

Friday, 10 May 2013

Emanuele Gaudiano won the second qualification for Sunday's Hamburg Derby after a great and fast round on Chicago (Chambertin x Quinar). All photos by Jenny Abrahamsson.

Jur Vrieling admitted that he got scared when he was on top of the derby bank with his first horse Km Carrera, so he retired without even trying to go down. But he pulled himself together and went down with his horse number two Labors Wonderby and ended second. Pius Schwizer with Ulysse passed the bank before he started his round. All the horses chose different ways of going down the Hamburg derby bank. Here Andre Plath with Chantal. It was not always so easy with the balance after coming down. Not for the horses...... or the riders. But the derby-pro Carsten-Otto Nagel with Lex Lugar did it easily. And so did last year's winner Nisse Lüneberg with Calle Cool. Denis Lynch rode Tarpan in this class. William Funnell and derby-expert Dorada ended fourth. Ignace Philips' Dieudonne de Guldenboom chose to jump down the derby bank.Campbel, with Marcus Ehning in the saddle - doing the bank in his own manner. Ronni Healy with Carlow Cruiser. Max-Hilmar Borchert and Cuba Libre. Thomas Voss with AB 19 Chepetto.
