Julien Epaillard won the second Grand Prix qualifier in Caen on Saturday. 54 riders had decided to take part in the big class on Saturday evening, and many wanted to qualify for the Grand Prix on Sunday. One of them was Julien Epaillard . The Norman rider is a specialist of speed and he showed it again in front of his home audience. N°9 to go with Mister Davier (Quiniou x Leprince de Thurin), he was six seconds ahead of the provisional leader, Eric Février. Every rider tried to improve his performance but none succeeded in it. The nearest were two young women, Stephanie Brugman from the Netherlands and US-rider Lauren Hough, finally 2nd and 3rd. Click here for full results.
In Assen, the Netherlands, Angelique Hoorn won the 1.50 class on Eurocommerce Damascus (Cardento x Corlando). Marc Houtzager was second on Sterrehof’s Uppity (Guidam x Epilot) – just behind Angelique on the time in the winning round. Third place went to Chantal Regter on Aragon (Askari x Kolibri).
