The 17 year old Holsteiner stallion Con Air (Contender x Carolus) has died. Studforlife.com reports that Con Air passed away due to a sudden heart attack at the stud where he was stationed to breed. Con Air had a long and successful career – both in sport and breeding. In the beginning of his international career he was seen under Denmark's Lars Bak Andersen, as well as Germany's Otto Becker, before Franz-Josef Dahlmann took over the reins. From the spring in 2009 to 2012 it was Argentina's Jose Larocca that competed the stallion at international Grand Prix level.
Con Air also has many successful offspring. Gregory Wathelet's Conrad and Niels Bruynseel's former ride Conisha van de Helle is among them.
