Florian Meyer zu Hartum and Chacciana 7-year-old Champions

Sunday, 30 September 2012

Florian Meyer zu Hartum and Chacciana Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The World Breeding Jumping Championship is a popular event every year, and the 7-year-old final was crowded with people as Florian Meyer zu Hartum took home the win aboard Chacciana (Chacco-Blue x Andiamo Z) . Only four combinations were clear in the first round as a lot of riders collected faults on the open water jump.

Florian Meyer zu Hartum was double clear and had the fastest jump-off at 40.54. Rene Tebbel was also double clear and with the time 41.13 he secured second place with Curley Sue (Caretello B x Landinos). Mathijs van Asten and Argos (Padinus x Concorde) had the last fence down in the jump-off and came third, while Jessica Kürten and Arezzo Vdl (Chin Chin x Heartbreaker) had four faults on the A-element of the combination as her leg hit the wing.

Although Gregory Wathelet did not end up at the podium it has to be mentioned that he had no less than three horses in the final - Citizenguard Million Dreams (Diamant de Semilly x Concetto), Viking (Chin Chin x Darco) and Sea Coast Forlap Dc (Querlybet Hero x Heartbreaker). Toni Hassmann, the winner of the 5-year-old final, also had one horse qualified for the 7-year-old final and ended as number ten with four faults riding For Europe (For Pleasure x Quidam de Revel).
