The European Championships for children, juniors and young riders saw a lot of talent on the podium in Spain. Dutch rider Frank Schuttert, who won the Grand Prix in Amsterdam in January, took home the indivudual gold for young riders aboard Winchester HS. Last year's winner Martin Fuchs is also a well known name on the big circuit. This year the Swiss rider ended second riding PSG Future. Chloe Aston and Ben Maher's former ride, Quiet Easy 4, secured a bronze medal for Britain.
The Italian rider Emanuele Massimiliano Bianchi amd Cupido Z are the new junior champions. Irish rider Bertram Allen ended second with Molly Malone and third place went to the Dutch rider Lisa Nooren and Zigo. All three riders finished the championship with only four faults.
Among the Children it was three riders that were clear through the entire weekend and the individual gold medal was decided with a jump-off. Virag Weinhardt with Bognar Jen Cor from Hungary cleared the jump-off in 42,37 seconds which was good enough for gold. Isabelle Straehuber with Guayana II could take home the silver with four faults and the time 37,46 seconds. The French rider Camille Conde-Ferreira and Pirole de la Chatre had eight faults in the jump-off and had to settle for bronze.
