It was a total French domination in the Prix Hermès Sellier at Saut Hermés this evening, as the top three consisted of Julien Epaillard, Roger-Yves Bost and Penelope Leprevost. Entering the beautiful ring in the Grand Palais in the middle of the 39 rider class, Julien Epaillard set up the pace on the lovely 10 year old Casall-son Cristallo A LM from the very beginning – choosing the forward alternatives everywhere, also on the related distances – cruising around the eleven fence track. When he crossed the finish line clear the home crowds went wild, as he had shaved off 1.22 seconds on Bosty’s time on Castle Forbes Vivaldo van het Costervelds (Clinton x Randel Z) who had taken the lead as first to go.
As number 25 into the ring, Peneleope Leprevost really gave it a go – but even she was not fast enough today and had to settle for third on a very well jumping Nayana (Royal Feu x Narcos II) 1.25 seconds behind Julien. Kevin Staut also squeezed in on the top, ending fifth on Silvana HDC (Corland x Widor), and Simon Delestre and Caroline Nicolas were in the ribbons s well making it all about France!
The first five star class in Paris was won by Carlos Lopez on Zorina VDL (Silverstone x Neckar). Many of the riders used the class to school the horses, but the top three were all fast and took the challenge against the clock around the 1.45 track. Runner-up was Jessica Kürten who rode a super round on Arezzo VDL (Chin Chin x Heartbreaker), 1.44 second behind Lopez on the time. In third came Jerome Hurel on Urano (Baloubet Du Rouet x Kannan).
