French forces in Liege

Monday, 07 November 2011

Patrice Delaveu. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. Patrice Delaveau won the four star Grand Prix in Liege Sunday. On Orient Express (Quick Star x Le Tot de Semilly) Delaveau had by far the fastest double clear in the class, leaving Eugeine Angot and Old Chape Time (Carthago x Quidam de Revel) over five seconds behind him. Janika Sprunger was third on Palloubet d’Halong (Baloubet du Rouet x Muguet du Manoir) with the last double clear of the day. This meant there were two French riders and three French horses in the top three.

The fastest time in the jump-off belonged to Gregory Wathelet, but a fence down pushed the Belgian rider down to fourth.
