From tour to tour; Sunday’s Grand Prix winners

Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.At the Toscana Tour in Arezzo the 3* 1.60 Gold Tour Grand Prix was won by Ludo Philippaerts on Denver van T Goemanshof (Vigo d'Arsouilles x Heartbreaker). The class – which also served as a qualifier for the FEI European Championships 2013 – had 60 riders at start, and out of these four produced double clear rounds. With a time of 37.89 seconds, Ludo was by far the fastest in the jump-off – leaving home rider Roberto Turchetto and the Baldini-son Baretto to second. Third was Oleg Krasyuk from Ukraine on SIEC Ledgepoint (Lancer II x Capitol I).

In Oliva Nova, the 2* Gold Grand Prix went to French rider Michel Hecart aboard Piman de la Deviniere (Diamant de Semilly x Oberon du Moulin). Hecart had one of five double clears of the class, and runner-up was Francois Mathy Jr. on D’Atlantique Royale (Darco x Kannan) – 0.83 seconds separated the two riders. Third went to Ireland’s Niall Talbot riding Nicos de la Cense (Eyken des Fontenis x Le Tot de Semilly).

Filipe Malta da Costa went on to win the 2* Grand Prix at the Atlantic Tour in Vilamoura. He rode Pilatos (Zandor Z x Holga) to victory in this 33 rider class – producing one of two double clear rounds. Almost three seconds faster in the jump-off, Filipe left Joao Chuva to second aboard Pluco T (Animo x Zufireda and Luis Sabino Goncalves to third on Imperio Egipcio Milton (Collar x Cabana).
