Once again Gert-Jan Bruggink proved to be unbeatable; this time around in the three star Grand Prix in Frankfurt. Riding Primeval Dejavu (Heartbreaker x Ramiro) the Dutch rider had one of six double clears in the class, but proved to be to fast for his competitors – making Marcus Ehning on Sabrina (Sandro Boy x Landadel) settling for second while his fellow countryman Jeroen Dubbeldam took third on Zenith SFN (Rash R x Fuego du Prelet).
Coming in as third last to go in the jump-off, Gert Jan set off in top gear – getting a super turn to the third last plank before he raced down to the following oxer before he turned on a coin back on the stretch to the final fence to cross the finish line on 33.35 seconds. Shaving off 0.03 seconds on Marcus Ehning’s amazing time, Bruggink pushed the German rider down to second – but the home crowds didn’t seem to mind as they were provided with top sport and entertainment. Jeroen Dubbeldam was last to go in the jump-off, and rode a super round on Zenith SFN with a time of 34.91 seconds.
It was a fantastic weekend for Bruggink, who had two wins and a great second place as well in Frankfurt.
