Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Global Champions Tour has announced that crowds of more than 165,000 have flocked to see the world’s top riders and horses at the first four events in the 2012 series. The four first shows have seen huge crowds turn out for world class showjumping with around 70,000 alone at the most recent event in Wiesbaden this past weekend. It was the first time Global Champions Tour President Jan Tops had decided to take his international sports circuit to Wiesbaden in southern Germany and the event was a sell-out with tickets snapped up by eager fans of equestrian sport.

The arrival of GCT at Wiesbaden proved a triumph as the Tour’s ingredients from the quality of top international riders and horses, big prize money and broadcasting by the international channel Eurosport, which reaches 130 million households in 59 countries, turned into a major crowd puller.
