Goodbye Animo

Tuesday, 15 November 2011

One of Animo's well-known offsprings; Ben Maher's Robin Hood W. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The great stallion Animo (Alme Z x Amor) was put to rest today at the age of 29. Animo has more than 3000 registered offsprings, and is the father of many top-level horses in show jumping. The stallion is owned by former Norwegian rider Morten Aasen  and his wife. The last years he has been living and breeding at their stable in England which was where he took his last breath today.  "We have known for a long time that this day would come. The last year he's had problems chewing his food, and now he had some problems with a sinus infection. He's had a great summer, but now we had to make this decision in his best interest" Kristin Kloster Aasen stated to the Norwegian press.
