Goodbye to Love Affair

Tuesday, 28 June 2011

Love Affair sadly died on Sunday. Here in action at the Gucci Masters. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Italian show jumper Gianni Govoni lost his top horse Love Affair (Quick Star x Garantie) on Sunday. The mare died unexpectedly and sudden at the show stables at the CSI show in Geesteren, Holland. On Friday Love Affair won the first qualification for the Grand Prix, but Govoni withdrew the horse from the main class on Sunday as he thought she was lame. An autopsy will be performed to ascertain the cause of death.

Love Affair – who was 12 years old – was very successful with Govoni, and won several international classes during their time together.
