Grand Prix in Frankfurt to Christian Ahlmann and Codex One!

Sunday, 18 December 2011

Christian Ahlmann and Codex One took home the Grand Prix in Frankfurt. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Christian Ahlmann and Codex One (Contendro x Glückspilz) won the Grand Prix of Hessen at the 5* show in Frankfurt. 33 riders started in the 1,55 m class and out of those 10 made it to the jump-off. It turned out to be an amazing jump-off!

First to go was Rene Tebbel with Cooper (Colman x Guardus Limbus) and as usual Rene gave his best and ended up with a clear round and a good time. But the next rider Christian Ahlmann with Codex One had the perfect flow with really short turns and was more than 3 seconds faster. He took over the lead which he kept throughout the class.

Royal Power (Pionier x Nimmerdor) and Jose Larocca were next to go and took and squeezed in just in front of Rene Tebbel. The crowd favorite Jörg Oppermann with Che Guevara (Concept x Rebel Z) started off kind off slow but after a couple of fences he gave his all and ended the course just slightly behind Christian.

Jörg Oppermann and Che Guevara pleased the home crowd. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson, Offel for sure wanted to win another class here in Frankfurt, this time with Cathleen (Cordobes x Ramiro Son), but the fifth fence fell. The big jumping Lacontino (Landgold x Continue) almost fell in the last turn which made them loose some time, but ended the course without faults and a time slightly slower than Rene´s.

The next two riders, Thomas Voss with Carinjo (Cascavell) and Ludger Beerbaum with Chaman (Baloubet du Rouet x I Love You) had the second fence down.

Janne-Friederike Meyer and her fantastic Holiday by Solitour ended up third. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Second last to go were Mario Stevens and Corlanda (Cordalme Z x Landcapitol) and they had two poles down in the end of the course. Last out was Janne-Friederike Meyer with Holiday by Solitour (Contendro x Cascavell) and they took over the third position.

Two horses got retired during the show today. Just before the class Mario Stevens' Mac Kinley said good bye to the show world, and as number 18 to go the 18 year old Lucie from Lars Nieberg started her last class.
