The 1.55 Grand Prix at the CSI3* event Sint Katelijne-Waver in Belgium went to home rider Patrik Spits. Riding the 14 year old Codex-daughter Withney van de Dwerse Hagen, the 41 year old rider claimed the top prize of 8000 Euro after producing one of only two double clear rounds. Only 0.23 seconds separated Spits and runner-up Albert Zoer from Holland aboard Wollie Bollie (Cantos x Zuidhorn). Australia’s Amy Gramham was third on Bella Baloubet (Baloubet du Rouet x Landadel) after ending on one time penalty in the first round, a destiny she shared with the next four riders on the result list.
The 1.45 Grand Prix at the CSI2* show in Autheuil, France, saw home rider Jerome Hurel ending on top. Riding the 10 year old KWPN-gelding Warrior (Emilion x Renville), Hurel had the fastest time in the jump-off at 37.72 seconds – and also one of the two double clears of the class. All the riders placed were French, and second best was Eric Navet on 39.11 seconds – and with the only other double clear of the class. Third was Jean Le Monze aboard Outlaw du Carpont (Jivaro du Rouet x Kayack) with four penalties in the jump-off.
The 1.45 2* Grand Prix in Barbizon, France, also had a French domination with Erwan Auffret ending as number one on Lipton Polka (Uri de Longbost x Tornado d’Hotot). With one of two double clears and a time in the jump-off that was more than four seconds faster than that of runner-up Corina Sorg from Switzerland – the victory was secured for the hosts. Home rider Walter Lapertot was third aboard Wodan (Darco x Paladin des Ifs).
