Not only did Great Britain win the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup on Friday; they also won Sunday's Grand Prix of Denmark thanks to Holly Gillott and the fantastic Dougie Douglas (VDL Douglas x High Roller). The 9 year old chestnut impressed by being double clear in the Nations Cup on Friday and continued his good form today being double clear in the CSIO3* Grand Prix as well.
Ending the second round in 38,01 seconds Gillott took over the lead from Marie Demonte and Rhune d'Eusakdi (Dollar du Murier x Jus de Pomme) who just shaved some time off on that of Sören Pedersen's with Tailormade Esparanza de Rebel (Rebel Z x Corofino).
The Grand Prix was a 1,60 m track over two rounds where the thirteen best riders qualified for the second round. Only six riders managed to be clear in both rounds and France was well represented. Demonte was the best French rider with her second place, but the French also took the fourth and fifth place with Reynald Angot riding Opera des Loges (Fetiche du Pas x Double Espoir) and Julien Anquetin riding Quanan Rouge (Kannan).
