Riding the notoriously fast Riesling du Monselet (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Laeken), Wathelet was the quickest of the almost fifty riders in the 1.45 class – taking home the win with a clear round in 63.65 seconds. Runner-up was Maikel van der Vleuten on another speed specialist – VDL Groep Eureka (Chin Chin x Quidam de Revel) – stopping the clock on 63.94. Third place went to yesterday's 1.40 winners Shane Breen and Calido Boy (Calido Ass x Alcatraz) that were two seconds behind Wathelet on the time.
