Gulliksen and Melby win the Puissance in Oslo

Sunday, 19 October 2014

A happy Johan Sebastian Gulliksen at Kingsland Oslo Horse Show. Photo by WoSJ.Home riders Johan Sebastian Gulliksen and Kevin Melby split a very popular home win in the late puissance class at Kingsland Oslo Horse Show Saturday evening. Four riders cleared the wall at 2 meters in the third round. Dag Ove Kingsrød chose not to enter the fourth round with Clarkes Ferro (Creevagh Ferro ex Siebe x Diamonds Are Trumps), while Joe Clayton and Noctambule Courcelle (Fidelio du Donjon SF) literally met the wall in the fourth round.

Aboard Vasko (Karlstad x Topas) Melby entered the arena facing the 2.10 meter wall. They gave it a go, but could not leave the wall intact. The young Norwegian talent Johan Sebastian Gulliksen and Grand Balou 4 (Balou du Rouet x Grandeur), a horse we normally see with Johan’s father Geir Gulliksen, was the last combination to enter the arena. Like the rest of the Gulliksen-family Johan always rides to win. Unfortunately also Johan had to se a brick fall, but it was good enough for a split win and to make the home crowd more than pleased with a great finish to a long Saturday in the arena.
