The Indoor Derby in Den Bosch Saturday evening went to Henk van de Pol and Chesterfield who came in as the last to go. Up until then Leopold van Asten had been in the lead after a super speedy round, but as he had to add four faults to his time Leopold eventually had to settle for second. Third place went to another speed machine - Eric Lamaze.
The atmosphere in the Brabanthalle was electric as the riders set off in crazy speed taking the shortest turns possible. In the long hall down to the warm-up the riders and their hoses looked more like they where competing at the race track than anything else.
Henk’s winning time ended at 83.48 which was produced without any breakes involved. Leopold looked like he had the devil at his heels though. He had the fastest time of the day at 80.07, but because of his four faults his total time became 84.07.
