Henk van de Pol makes it a home win in Amsterdam

Sunday, 20 January 2013

Henk van de Pol and Chesterfield on their way to victory in Amsterdam. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. As last to go in the jump-off, Dutch rider Henk van de Pol made it a home win in Sunday’s 1.45 class. The Provincie Noord-Holland Prize had 46 riders lined up to compete for the win, but it was Henk and the superfast and charming Chesterfield that took home the top prize after a jump-off round that was ridden without any breaks. The home crowds made sure to appreciate Henk’s efforts as he stopped the clock at 31.85 seconds.

Gert-Jan Bruggink made it double Dutch in the top, ending second on Primeval Dejavu (Heartbreaker x Ramiro Z) with the time of 32.70. The two Dutch riders had good company from their team mates in the jump-off, as no less than ten home riders were clear in the first round. Mathijs van Asten secured Holland the third place as well riding Amigo (Coriano x Silvester), while Willem Greve and the lovely stallion Carambole (Cassini I x Concerto II) ended fourth.
