Saturday, 28 December 2013

Henrik von Eckermann and Quibell. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. As the only clear rider through the four rounds, Henrik von Eckermann won the Land Rover Masters in Mechelen. The Swedish rider's winning partner was the 10 year old mare Quibell (Quintero x Cento). Home rider Constant van Paesschen pleased the audience to end second with Ralphy Utopia de Ransbeck (Ohio van de Padenborre x Darco), after challenging Henrik all the way to the fourth round.

Then followed an armada of Belgian riders; Francois Mathy on Cero (Calido I x Come On), Nicola Philippaerts on Donatella-N (Vigo d'Arsouilles x Burggraaf) and Pieter Devos with Echo D (Orlando x Skippy II) all made it to the third round and took care of the third place.

Earlier in the evening Eldorado van het Vijverhof (Thunder Van De Zuuthoeve x Omar) won the Zangersheide stallion competition with Dayro Arroyave in the saddle. There were three double clears in the class, and Timothee Anciaume ended second on the Kannan-son Padock du Plessis HN while he also made sure to be third on another Kannan-offspring - Quorioso Pre Noir.
