The 5* show in Geneva had two big classes today. The 1.50 class had 42 combinations to start and only two clears - Marc Houtzager aboard Sterrehof’s Opium (Polydor x Bormio) and Philipp Weishaupt riding Akteur (Arpreggio x Pilot). In the jump-off Weishaupt had the fastest time, but eight faults which pushed him down to a second place leaving Houtzager on top after two clear rounds.
Third place went to Athina Onassis de Miranda and AD Unaniem (Munero Uno x Voltaire) who keeps delivering great rounds, but once again one time fault prevented her from taking part in the jump-off.
Later in the evening there was a 1.60 class where the eight best riders from the first round went on to a second round. Out of the 20 riders competing Pius Schwizer and Penelope Leprevost were the only double clears, and it was Pius and Ulysse (Nonstop x Jus de Pomme) who secured a popular home win at the fabulous show in Geneva. Schwizer is really on a winning streak these days, and is currently number four on the Rolex FEI World ranking. Third place went to number one on the ranking list; Eric Lamaze and Herald (Heraldik x Lorenz) with only one time fault after two rounds.
